Pinched Nerve?

A pinched nerve can be extremely painful and can occur in many areas of the body. A pinched nerve also has the ability to cause disruption to your day-to-day life.

Pinched nerves are very common and we at Body Care Health & Chiropractic regularly treat patients experiencing the below symptoms.

What is a pinched nerve?

A pinched nerve occurs when excessive pressure is put on a nerve. This pressure can be caused by surrounding tissues such as bones, muscles, tendons, cartilage and the discs of the spine. When this happens, the function of that particular nerve will be disrupted which then results in one or more of the following symptoms;

-          Sharp pain

-          Aching pain

-          Shooting pain that refers down a limb (eg arm or leg)

-          Pins and needles or tingling

-          Numbness

-          Muscle weakness

-          Loss of co-ordination in the hands and feet

It can happen in many different areas of the body. For example, in the neck where it can cause headaches or perhaps referred symptoms down the arm. Or in the wrist where it can create Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Can a Chiropractor treat your pinched nerve?

Our Chiropractors at Body Care Health and Chiropractic are highly trained in finding the location and cause of the pressure and then work to release that ‘trapped’ nerve. It is extremely important to treat the root cause of the issue. At Body Care Health & Chiropractic, we use a range of gentle techniques and will always discuss the plan with you. We aim to help people avoid the need for invasive procedures or medications.

If you are experiencing symptoms of a pinched nerve, call us on 0409 712 075 or send us a message and we’ll explain how we can treat your pinched nerve, get you out of pain and help your body heal faster.
